“End Polio Now” Polio Day

The end Polio campaign awareness organized by the African International Documentary Festival Foundation to mark the 2018 world Polio day held on the 23rd of October at the conference hall of 805 restaurant Wuse 2 Abuja, ended on a high note as the intricate issues of Polio were expounded and notable talents were discovered.

The event which was co-sponsored by Rotary International, Polio plus, WHO, and USAID was described as a masterstroke and with the concerted efforts of our partners saw and highlighted prevailing issues militating against total eradication of Polio in the country. In the Documentary Challenge, where over 30 young talented Documentary producers submitted a Three minutes documentary to visualize Polio eradication, miss Dorcas Bello emerged winner of the competition and LEA school Gwarinpa emerged as the best school on the students essay competition. The event was Graced by top dignitaries from different organisation as we also had member of the national youth service corps and students. Partners and dignitaries at the event commended the foundation for organising the event which was apt and much needs in the country and also also showered encomiums on the foundation for the documentary and essay competition while also pledging their support for the continuous development and promotion of young talents to tell their wonderful African stories to the world.
High points of the event was the presentation of prizes to the winners of each category, presentation of a wheel chair to a Polio victim and launch of the theme song
