A PROMISE KEPT: SUKUR EDUCATION GETS A FACELIFT

The Rt.Hon Yakubu Dogara, Speaker, 8th Assembly of the House of Representatives had in July 2021 told a gathering of Stakeholders both Local and International audience in Abuja that he would contribute to UNESCO's Recovery Match for Sukur,

an initiative being implemented by the African International Documentary Festival Foundation with the active support of Agencies of government.

AFIDFF is collaborating with National Commission for Museums and Monuments and the Nigerian National Commission for UNESCO to restore and rebuild Sukur, Africa's first listed World heritage site located in Madagali Local government in Adamawa State, Nigeria.

Rt. Hon. Dogara has kept to his promise by facilitating the provision of a modern Junior Secondary School Complex in January 2022 to boost the educational development of the people and this beautiful complex will be commissioned soon at the Sukur World Heritage Site up the Mandara mountains.

Meanwhile, AFIDFF Director-General, Mrs. Malame Mangzha has expressed her appreciation to the Elder Statesman for his concern to the Sakun people while calling on other individuals to key into this project of restoring the glory of the renowned heritage site.
