The way we live, think, and interact with our surroundings is being significantly influenced by climate change. Our mission is to promote environmentally conscious practices by mitigating the impacts of climate change at the local, regional, and global levels. The unprecedented challenges posed by climate change and the environmental issues we face are largely the result of human activities. Various factors contribute to climate change, including the transition from traditional to modern technologies, which is leaving a lasting impact on human history. This disruption in our ecosystem is rapidly shaping our future, leading to a global rise in temperatures, deforestation, and drought in parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in Nigeria.

The global impact of climate change has caused many to suffer from dire health conditions, emphasizing the critical need for public awareness about climate change. In light of this, the African International Documentary Festival Foundation (AFIDFF), in collaboration with its partners, is launching an awareness campaign. This initiative aims to educate and raise awareness about the restoration, preservation, and conservation of the environment through renewed efforts, commitments, and defined objectives.

THINK GREEN TAKE ACTION: AFIDFF focuses on various themes, including climate change, under their innovative initiative "Think Green Take Action." The organization is dedicated to combating the challenges posed by climate change through the creation of documentaries, tree planting, sanitation efforts, recycling of plastic materials, and advocacy work. AFIDFF seeks to motivate and empower African youth, encouraging them to lead the charge against the detrimental effects of climate change. Furthermore, they aim to inspire youth to participate in the initiative by fostering the development of new social enterprises, particularly in the areas of recycling and the establishment of tree nursery beds.

FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE CLIMATE CHANGE: According to the findings of our research team, the elements affecting the climate conditions of a specific geographical area include inadequate environmental hygiene, the emission of methane from fossil fuels, ethylene from local waste disposal sites, the depletion of forests, and the haphazard disposal of plastic materials, all of which significantly impact the ecosystem.

WHAT WE DO: We endorse inventive community initiatives via documentary production, sharing knowledge, collaborating on climate-related concerns, and devising strategies to advance intelligent climate practices at the local, regional, and global scales.
