Independence Day Documentary Challenge and Screening
The African International Documentary Festival Foundation held its first edition of the Independence Day Documentary Challenge and Screening on Thursday, 26th September 2019 at the Banquet hall of the National Centre for Women Development Abuja, Nigeria.
The event which was organised in commemoration of Nigeria’s 59th Independence day indeed recorded a huge success as guests of different cadre and professional agencies attended the event to watch wonderful and inspiring documentaries from teeming young people who have great stories of our great nation to share to the world screened.
The event also featured screening of documentaries done to commemorate Universal Health Coverage.
Many thanks to our sponsors, The US Embassy Abuja, the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) also our Partners, Lafarge Ashaka Cement, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, U.S Centre for Disease Control and Prevention Abuja, Ministry of Women Affairs, Coalition for Change(C4C) Rotary International, National Orientation Agency, Voice of Nigeria (VON) many others like ace Nollywood actor like – Jim Iyke and popular comedian – MC Tagwaye did well by gracing the occasion.
After the Screening, Ayo Bamidele emerged as the winner of the Independence day Documentary challenge and Jesse Jeremiah came second, while EddyMark Onoja emerged first position in the Universal Health Coverage competition and Amos Mundi came second. Prizes of Canon DSLR cameras and Laptops were awarded to the first and second positions respectively in both competitions.
