AFIDFF works to strategically empower young talented/undiscovered storytellers, journalists, and documentarians across the 9 countries that constitute the Central Africa Sub-region. Yaoundé, Cameroon is the headquarter of its activities in the region and on July 07^th, 2020, Mr. Fombang Banns Nyuydin (a Cameroonian Producer and Director for television) was appointed Regional Director for the region by the AFIDFF board. Working teams are progressively being set up and competent country heads are being appointed in each of these countries to ensure the effective execution of AFIFF’s mission. Social entrepreneurship also constitutes a major part of our work in the region. The goal is to empower young social entrepreneurs by strengthening their capacity and enabling them to be catalysts of development in their nations. In this regard, AFIDFF is working with social entrepreneurs locally and has set up strategic partnerships globally to buttress its efforts in this domain.

 Despite the impact of the pandemic, AFIDFF’s work in the sub-region has been evolving steadily. Knowledge sharing, capacity building, and coaching through seminars and workshops under the coordination of the international head office in Nigeria have been ongoing online, keeping storytellers and documentarians of the sub-region in perspective with regards to their role in shaping the narrative of the continent through storytelling. There has been an advancing interest in social entrepreneurship among young people as the AFIDFF sub-regional teams continue to intensify their work in that domain.
