AFRICAN INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY TELEVISION (AID TV)

AID TV (African International Documentary Television) is a 24-Hours multi-lingua documentary channel that originates from the African International Documentary Festival platform in the United States of America and Africa.

The television grew out of the AFIDF framework and objectives to help launch African Documentarians to the rest of the world.

Coverage includes docu-newscasts, in-depth reports, all genres of documentaries and commentary programmes. It is launched in its first phase as an online television platform, and will transmit on its second phase on satellite which can be received by more than 85 million viewers, in over 100 countries and regions.

The future of AID TV is bright as it will be carried on cable, DTH, IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) and Terrestrial TV platforms or systems in many Nations. It carters to a global English-speaking audience, including other major African Languages in Africa.

 

Programming

Currently, AID TV airs African documentaries via its online channel on the AFIDF online portal. The television has designed a programme schedule for rich contents that are geared at impacting lives of all generations around the globe. As well as creating new broadcast content genre like the first docu-news programme, there are specialist bulletins focusing on African with programmes on Entertainment, Business and Technology. Our programme mix will have contents of different categories showcased per-hour, from magazines covering arts, science, history, culture and sports.

AID TV has eighty (80) percent of its content centred on documentaries, providing comprehensive global coverage; and its Afri-Doc News and Africa Today, delivering the latest domestic and regional developments. Specialized programmes include Culture Expo, Tech Africa, Arrow Point (Travel & Tourism show), and Sports Express, providing information on business, technology, economy, travel, culture and sports. Our programmes have a documentary format production mechanism that makes our style very unique, this gives an extended balance and critical perspectives on current affairs affecting all corners of Africa and the globe.

AID TV’s programmes on culture, history and modern society of Africa, expose Africa, the Caribbean’s and other global sites to the rest of the world showcasing rich heritage, landscapes, food, fashion, lifestyle and wild life.
