AFIDFF Participates in Ambassador Fund for Cultural Preservation Signing Ceremony

 

The African International Documentary Festival Foundation (AFIDFF) had the privilege of attending the official signing ceremony for the Ambassador Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP), organized by the US Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, and the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS-Nigeria).

The ceremony occurred on Friday, February 15th, 2024, at the US Embassy in Abuja.

The AFCP is dedicated to conserving and restoring the Sukur Cultural Landscape in Madagali, Adamawa State, Nigeria. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including the Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Abuja, David Green; the Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Dr. Hanatu Musawa; the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; the President of the American University of Nigeria; the President of ICOMOS-Nigeria; and representatives from the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, among others.

AFIDFF remains steadfast in its commitment to raising awareness and supporting the restoration and preservation of the Sukur Cultural Landscape.
