AFIDFF Visit the Executive Governor of Adamawa State.

The Director General AFIDFF, Malame Mangzha alongside the Philippine Ambassador to Nigeria, Rodrico Atienza had the honour of paying a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, H.E Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri on Friday 4th August, 2023 to commend the Governor on his landmark achievement in the preservation, development and promotion of culture and tourism in the state especially in the Sukur Cultural Landscape which is Nigeria’s First World Heritage Site.

The Governor while receiving the team called on the diplomatic community to join hands in supporting Sukur cultural landscape’s continued growth and development. The restoration of peace in the region has paved the way for progress, and now is the time to focus on the key areas that will uplift the Cultural landscape and the community.

His Excellency also expressed his administration's commitment to providing the Sukur landscape with all the necessary resources to enhance tourism in the state. This not only celebrates the rich heritage of Sukur but also contributes to the economic prosperity of our region.

The Governor, Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri also extended his gratitude to Rodrico Atienza the Philippine Ambassador for his support and partnership which is valuable in ensuring the sustained success of Sukur Heritage Site.

He also commended the African International Documentary Festival Foundation, for her dedication in promoting the Sukur World Heritage Site. The efforts of organizations like AFIDFF and the involvement of organizations like the National Commission for Museums and Monuments and the Kinjir Foundation, further highlight the collaborative spirit driving positive change in Sukur.

AFIDFF will continue to unite our efforts and shared commitment to champion the preservation and promotion of Sukur World Heritage Site.
