The African Documentary Festival, with the 2023 theme “investing in Africa through storytelling,” is an annual celebration of the brightest and the best in African documentaries, creating a new line of young and passionate documentary producers and promoting African culture as an effective means of economic development. The festival will be produces with class, style, blitz, glitz and razzmatazz. It is designed to be one of the largest gatherings of documentary producers, storytellers, filmmakers and investors of African origin and from the rest of the world. There will be a blend of cuisines, fashion, music, cultural products from all parts of Africa. 

The festival aims at showcasing culture especially film production as an essential tool for economic and social empowerment of emerging economies. The documentary power of filmmaking and storytelling will contribute immensely to growing Africa’s economy. In the case of the Equatorial Guinea, it will showcase the untapped potentials of Equatorial Guinea to Africa and the world at large. It will stimulate business tourism, promote National growth and encourage corporate engagement in social and culture driven development.
