Collaborative Meeting  with the Congolese Embassy in Nigeria

On September 25th, 2023, the African International Documentary Festival Foundation had the privilege of meeting with Madam Florence Nzako Balula, the 2nd Counsellor of the Democratic Republic of Congo Embassy in Nigeria.

The main topic of discussion revolved around the UNESCO World Heritage Volunteer Initiative program, which is scheduled to commence on November 19th, 2023. This initiative is dedicated to raising awareness about world heritage sites and involving young individuals in the preservation of these sites.

During the meeting, Mr. Danladi Kobi, the Director of Communication at AFIDFF, provided valuable insights into the Sukur Cultural Landscape. Furthermore, he explored potential collaborations between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Nigeria, particularly focusing on cultural exchange programs. Madam Balula expressed her deep admiration for the Sukur architecture and its long-standing preservation, noting the remarkable similarities between Congolese and Nigerian cultures.

This productive dialogue has set the stage for promising future collaborations.
