AFIDFF Engages with the Malaysian Embassy

On October 4th, 2023, the African International Documentary Festival Foundation had the privilege of meeting with Ms. Sharmini Devi Gopal, who serves as the Counsellor at the Malaysian Embassy in Nigeria.

The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming 2023 UNESCO World Heritage Volunteer Initiative, scheduled for November 19th at the Sukur Cultural Landscape Madagali LGA, Adamawa State. (Africa’s First Cultural Landscape and Nigeria’s First World Heritage Site).

During the meeting, the Director General , AFIDFF emphasized the organization's substantial contributions to the preservation of the Sukur Cultural Landscape, accomplished through collaborative efforts with UNESCO and other valuable partners. Ms. Gopal expressed a strong interest in collaborating with AFIDFF to create compelling documentary narratives that highlight cross-cultural exchanges between Nigeria and Malaysia.

This meeting has laid the groundwork for future synergies and collaboration opportunities.
