Visionary Voices Africa

The African International Documentary Festival Foundation (AFIDFF) is thrilled to announce the resounding success of its recent online summit, "Visionary Voices Africa: Storytelling for Impact and Income," held on February 29th, 2024.

The event, themed "Storytelling for Impact and Income," brought together a diverse array of speakers and participants from across the African continent and beyond.

The summit featured engaging sessions led by prominent voices in the world of African storytelling, including:

The summit, "Visionary Voices Africa," was designed to empower aspiring African storytellers by providing them with the necessary tools, insights, and strategies to create impactful narratives while also generating income from their craft. Attendees had the opportunity to explore various aspects of storytelling, including narrative development, filmmaking techniques, business strategies, social impact, cultural representation, and responsible storytelling practices.

"Visionary Voices Africa" aims to guide storytellers in navigating the complex landscape of creativity and commerce, while also celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Africa. Through this program, AFIDFF seeks to support emerging talent in building sustainable careers as writers, filmmakers, podcasters, and other forms of storytellers, while promoting African stories on a global scale.

Commenting on the success of the summit, Mrs Malame N. Mangzha, Director General of AFIDFF, stated: "We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to 'Visionary Voices Africa: Storytelling for Impact and Income.' The passion and creativity demonstrated by our speakers and participants truly exemplify the power of storytelling to effect change and inspire audiences.
