On Friday, 17th February 2023, the Director General of the African International Documentary Foundation (AFIDFF), Malame Mangzha, along with her management team, visited the Embassy of China in Abuja to meet with the Director of the Chinese Cultural Center, Mr. Li Xuda.

The African International Documentary Festival Foundation (AFIDFF) and Dreams Hub have entered into an understanding in a bid to actualize the first ever Documentary film festival in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, to promote the culture of young African storytellers through films and documentaries by encouraging African-themed stories with a view to creating jobs for 3000 persons during the festival across the continent of Africa.

The African International Documentary Festival foundation, working together with the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, National Commission for UNESCO, the Adamawa State Government and other implementing partners, again successfully implemented the UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers Initiative 2022 for the second year running in the recovery march for the restoration of Sukur Cultural landscape, Africa’s first Cultural landscape and Nigeria’s first World Heritage site inscribed by UNESCO.

The African International Documentary Festival Foundation has featured at the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Global Conference on Linking Tourism Culture and The Creative Industries held from 14th -16th November 2022 at the National Art Theatre Iganmu Lagos. The 3-day event hosted leaders from across African countries with the idea to bridge the gap between two areas through a strategic partnership with affiliate members such as Netflix.

The Dr. Kwame Nkrumah outstanding merit award for excellence in Leadership and Outstanding Contribution to humanity was presented to the Director General African International Documentary Festival Foundation (AFIDFF) Malame Mangzha by representatives of the foundation Dr. Felix Okonkwo and Dr. Brown Aduku on the 26th October 2022 for her contribution in the advocacy for African Culture and Values as a Humanist, Pan Africanist and her strong belief in the ability of people to chart their course within the general trend of civilized humanity.
